Marshalltown Community College women's basketball team hosted DMACC for the 3rd meeting between the two teams this season on Monday, Jan. 27. Both teams having won on their home floor thus far. MCC came out ahead with a 61-60 win in the rubber match.
Lauren Lyons had a big night going for 20 points and nine rebounds. Eva Zaragoza also played a key role with 16 points and 5 rebounds. This victory tied last season's win total with seven more games to go.
Saturday, Feb. 1 MCC hosted Iowa Western for third conference game of the year. Only able to accumulate 46 points due to 28 turnovers, the Tigers fell 82-46. Dana Stokes led the team with 18 points and six steals. The other double-digit player was Carla Collado with 12 points.
This week MCC will host two JV games on back to back nights, Tuesday, Feb. 4 against Central JV and Wednesday, Feb. 5 against Graceland JV. Both games will tip-off at 6 pm. The Tigers will then head to play their last conference game at Norfolk, NE on Saturday, Feb. 8 at 5 pm.
