The Marshalltown Community College (MCC) Tigers men's soccer team lost a competitive match on the road against Southeastern Community College with a final score of 3-1.
Southeastern opened the scoring in the 7th minute off a corner kick. The Tigers answered in the 23rd minute when Ran Inosake scored a well-executed volley to tie the game. Southeastern regained the lead just before halftime.
The second half was marked by physical play. Southeastern extended their lead to 3-1 in the 68th minute via an unfortunate own goal.
Goalkeeper Tim Albrect delivered a strong performance, recording 5 big saves from the 11 shots he faced on goal.
"The boys battled hard to the end, commented Head Coach Chris Fuchsen. "Unfortunately, it wasn't enough to get the result we wanted."
The Tigers will quickly turn their focus to their next road challenge on Saturday, September 27, when they travel to face Northwest Iowa Community College.
