Tigers Fall to 2-2
The MCC women’s basketball team hosted the Vikings of Jefferson College in the Student activity Center on the Marshalltown Community College campus Saturday afternoon.
The MCC women's basketball team hosted the Vikings of Jefferson College in the Student Activity Center on the Marshalltown Community College campus Saturday afternoon. The 2-1 Tigers were coming off their best game of the season as they defeated the Warriors of Little Priest Tribal College 67-57 Thursday night. Saturday the Tigers would fall to the Vikings 65-54.
The Tigers had three players in double digit point totals in Claudia Morente with 13 points , Alyssa Roth with 12 points, and Loralei Siliga with 15 points. The game was tied 46-46 going into the fourth quarter when the Tigers could not get the ball to drop their way and were outscored 19-8. The Vikings were lead in scoring by Shannyn Triplett who finished the night with 20 points.
The 2-2 Tigers will be back in action on Tuesday when they travel to Keokuk, Iowa to take on the Blackhawks of Southeastern Community College. The Blackhawks are currently 1-2 on the season and led by freshmen guard Miah Shelby and sophomore Ciera Walker who each average 17 points
