The Marshalltown Community College Athletic Department would like the congratulate Jelena Dukic for recording her 1,000th assist this season. With 34 matches played, the freshman setter has been pivotal in the Tigers success this season, as the team has reached the 20-win mark after Monday's victory over Ellsworth Community College.
"One thousand assists has long been looked at as a sort of in-season milestone or goal for setters running a 5-1," stated Head Coach Justin Hoskins. "Jelena has done a nice job of coming in and establishing a connection with our hitters this year and the stats are a reward of that. This is a team feat, however, to be shared with all of our passers who got her a good pass and the hitters who put the ball away."
Dukic and the rest of the Tigers will be back on action Friday, November 3 when they take on the Warriors of Indian Hills in the first round of the District J Tournament. The Tigers have been unable to defeat the Warriors thus far this season, dropping both matches they have played this year.
