MCC Tiger Volleyball opens season at home
The Marshalltown Community College (MCC) Tiger volleyball team played their first game of the season last night, hosting the Southeastern Community College Blackhawks. Despite a strong effort, the Tigers were defeated 3-0.
The Marshalltown Community College (MCC) Tiger volleyball team played their first game of the season last night, hosting the Southeastern Community College Blackhawks. Despite a strong effort, the Tigers were defeated 3-0.
Southeastern, already in their seventh game of the season, came out strong. The Tigers battled to keep the score tight in the first set, falling 25-22. Southeastern then took the next two sets, 25-16 and 25-14, to secure the match.
Leading the offense for the Tigers were Morghan Harvey with 42 total attacks and Kaylee LaPlant with 29. Defensively, Callie Swanson led the team with 24 digs, followed by Olivia Maddux who had 17.
The Tigers will be on the road for their next match on September 3 at Northeast Community College.
