The evening belonged to sophomore standout Shenell Stewart, who delivered a powerhouse performance to lead the Tigers' effort. Stewart notched a massive double-double, recording a game-high 20 points and securing 19 rebounds to control the paint.
Supporting the offensive effort was Ariyanah Custard, who was the only other Tiger to reach double figures. Custard finished the night with 10 points.
With the regular season winding down, only two games remain for the Tigers. The team will travel to face Central Community College this Saturday, Feb. 21, with tip-off scheduled for 1 pm. Following that road trip, the Tigers will return to their home court for the regular-season finale against Kirkwood on Wednesday, Feb. 25, at 5:30 pm.
The final home game will serve as a special night for the program, as the Tigers host Sophomore Recognition. MCC will honor sophomores Shenell Stewart, Kenijae Cherry, and Olivia Hartwell for their dedication and contributions to MCC basketball.
