Leading the charge for the Tigers is sophomore forward Kenijae Cherry from Las Vegas, NV, who has been named the ICCAC Defensive Player of the Year. Cherry's impact was felt not just regionally, but on a national scale. She led the ICCAC in blocks with a staggering 84 rejections, a mark that ranked third overall in the NJCAA. In addition to her shot-blocking prowess, she proved to be a force on the glass, ranking fourth in the conference with 281 total rebounds for an average of 9.7 per game. One of her most defining performances came on Dec. 17 against NIACC, where she recorded a season-high six blocks. For her combined efforts of 6.7 points per game and her defensive dominance, Cherry was also selected to the ICCAC All-Region Third Team.
Joining Cherry on the All-Region Third Team is sophomore standout Shenell Stewart. A native of Nassau, Bahamas, Stewart provided the Tigers with reliable scoring and veteran presence in the backcourt. She averaged 12.4 points per game and showcased her consistency from the charity stripe with a 64.2% free-throw percentage.
